Website section updated: October 17, 2026

This section covers g3inspections.com, its gauge waitlist and its free browser calculator. Our mobile app has its own section below.

The gauge waitlist asks for your email address and an optional name. Your signup includes your consent to gauge, product and purchasing updates. We keep the submitted details and the wording of your consent with the signup record.

For privacy questions, corrections, deletion requests or to unsubscribe from gauge updates, email support@g3inspections.com.

The free heat input calculator runs in your browser and does not require an account. Using it does not require joining the gauge waitlist.

Services used by this website

Hostinger hosts our WordPress website. Contact Form 7 and Flamingo store gauge signup details and consent records in the website database. These records also include the submission date and page, IP address and browser details. If a submitter is signed in to WordPress, account details can also be recorded.

Our support@g3inspections.com mailbox uses Microsoft 365. Messages you email to that address are handled through Microsoft 365.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Font requests include your IP address, the requested resource, browser and operating-system information, and the referring page. See Google Fonts privacy details.

The website uses Automattic’s Jetpack Stats for visit statistics. Jetpack processes information such as IP addresses, browser details, visited and referring pages, event times, language and country. WordPress.com account identifiers may also be used when a visitor is signed in to WordPress.com. See Jetpack Stats privacy details.

G3 – Heat Input Calculator app privacy

Effective date: October 30, 2026

This section covers the G3 – Heat Input Calculator app (shown on your phone as “G3 Solutions”), which works with the SmartArc gauge. The app is made by G3 Inspection Solutions (“we”, “us”). It is available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play (package com.heatinput.app). It replaces our earlier mobile-app policy dated March 10, 2026.

You don’t need an account

You can use the heat input calculator, save weld passes on your phone, export a PDF report, and connect a SmartArc gauge without an account. Without an account, the app sends nothing about you to us.

The app loads its fonts from Google Fonts while it runs, so Google receives your device’s IP address, even if you don’t have an account. See Google Fonts privacy details.

If you create an account

We keep:

  • your email address. Sign-in with a password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and we never see your password;
  • the name you enter when you sign up;
  • your role in the app (new accounts are set to Technician);
  • an account ID that Firebase assigns to you;
  • the date your account was created;
  • whether you have seen the in-app tips.

We use this only to sign you in, show your name in the app, and avoid showing you the same tips again.

Weld reports you save to your account

A report is first saved to your account when you tap Finish Weld while signed in. After that, if you open the saved report and rename it or edit a weld pass, the change is written back to that report in your account. If you are offline, the change is kept on your phone and sent to your account when you are back online.

A saved report contains the report name, the client and job names, the welder name, the date, each weld pass (unit, pass type, volts, amps, distance, arc time, travel speed and heat input), and the time it was first saved. Reports are saved only to your own account.

We do not store welder ticket numbers or ticket expiry dates with your reports.

PDF reports

PDFs are created on your phone. They are sent only where you choose to share them.

SmartArc gauge (Bluetooth)

The app uses Bluetooth to find your SmartArc gauge and read its angle, distance and height measurements. Readings are shown on screen and are not sent to us.

The app does not use your location. On iPhone it never asks for location. On Android 12 and newer, it asks only for the “Nearby devices” (Bluetooth) permission and tells Android it does not use Bluetooth scans to find your location. On Android 11 and older, Android requires location permission for any Bluetooth scan, so on those versions the app asks for it, uses it only to scan, and never reads your location.

Stored on your phone

The app keeps your sign-in state, account ID, role, whether you have finished the intro screens, a “remember me” setting and, if you choose it, your saved email on your phone.

What we do not collect

The app does not collect your phone number, company name, photos or videos, location, contacts, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or crash logs.

Who processes your data

Account and report data are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which processes it for us. We do not sell your data.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

The app has no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

How long we keep data

We keep your account data and saved reports until your account is deleted. Deleting your account removes them as described below.

Your data is stored with Google Firebase in the United States. We keep it until you delete your account or ask us to delete it at support@g3inspections.com.

Deleting your account

In the app, open the Profile tab and tap Delete Account, then confirm with your password.

Delete Account first deletes the data saved under your account: your profile and any reports, welders, clients, jobs and locations stored there. Then it deletes your sign-in account. If the data deletion fails or does not finish in time (for example, you lose connection), your account is kept and the app tells you so. Some of your saved data may already be deleted at that point. Tap Delete Account again to finish. If your data was deleted but the sign-in account could not be removed, the app says so and you can try again.

You can also ask us to delete your account and data by emailing support@g3inspections.com.

When we may share information

Legal reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights, prevent fraud or keep people safe.

Business transfers. If G3 Inspection Solutions is merged, bought or sells its assets, your information may move to the new owner, who must follow this policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent. Email support@g3inspections.com.

Children

The app is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this section, we will update the effective date above. Please check it from time to time.
